chargecloud provides e-mobility software for charging infrastructure at Ford’s German sites
Partnership for operating the charging infrastructure at the Cologne sites as well as the Saarlouis plant, and for home charging for a defined group of employees
This press release has:
Cologne, 10 June 2026: chargecloud will provide Ford in Germany with the e-mobility software for managing charging stations. Under the agreement, Ford will operate and manage the charging points in Cologne and Saarlouis via chargecloud’s cloud-based Operating System (OS).
The project includes around 1,400 charging points in Cologne and Saarlouis, as well as the home charging use case for a selected group of employees with company cars. Following the launch in Germany, it is planned to expand the collaboration to additional Ford sites. Ford acts as the Charge Point Operator (CPO) and operates the charging infrastructure using the chargecloud OS.
Central application for European charging infrastructure management
The integration of the charging points is implemented via chargecloud’s modular software platform, which enables central control, monitoring and billing. This provides the basis for uniform, transparent management of the charging infrastructure across multiple European markets. Using a shared application for workplace and home charging points helps to standardize processes and manage utilization of the charging infrastructure efficiently. Standardized interfaces also enable future-proof integration into existing IT systems.
“The collaboration with Ford shows how complex charging infrastructures can be managed efficiently with a scalable software solution – securely and across locations,” emphasizes Markus Bach, CEO & CTO of chargecloud GmbH. “By connecting workplace and home charging points, a continuous digital structure is created that simplifies operations and covers all use cases. We are pleased to support Ford on this journey.”
“The charging infrastructure at our sites in Germany is a core component in supporting our employees on the path to e-mobility,” adds Philipp John, Manager Ford-Werke-Fleet. “chargecloud’s solution provides us with the technical foundation and the required range of functions to manage and harmonize the expansion of the charging infrastructure efficiently.”
Consistent standard for operations and transparency
The chargecloud OS is a solution that has already become established in the European market among energy suppliers, fleet operators and e-mobility service providers. Centralized software control standardized maintenance, monitoring and reporting for the charging points, while data sovereignty remains with the operator.
