chargecloud joins Italian industry association Motus-E
Active participation in working groups on charging infrastructure and fleets reflects strategic commitment to the Italian market
This press release has:
Cologne/Milan, 20 May 2026: chargecloud Italia S.r.l., a provider of cloud-based software solutions for charging infrastructure, has joined Motus-E, the Italian industry association for electric mobility. Through this membership, the company deepens its engagement in the Italian e-mobility market and contributes its expertise to the development of industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
Motus-E was founded in 2018 by leading players from the automotive and energy sectors as well as academia, with the aim of advancing the energy transition in transport. The association today brings together more than 100 members and partners across the entire e-mobility value chain, serving as a platform for dialogue between companies, technology providers and public institutions.
For chargecloud, membership is a deliberate step toward contributing to this exchange as a software provider. The company has been established in Italy since 2025 with a subsidiary in Milan and has been systematically expanding its local market position ever since.
Active involvement in specialist working groups on charging and fleets
chargecloud will take an active role in Motus-E's working groups – specifically in the streams dedicated to charging infrastructure and fleets. The aim is to bring technical expertise on interoperability and operational reliability to the development of industry standards and legislative proposals. To this end, the company, headquartered in Germany, can draw on ten years of experience in building and managing charging infrastructure for e-mobility.
The timing of the membership is no coincidence: the Italian e-mobility sector is entering a phase where, in addition to infrastructure expansion, the focus is increasingly on quality, availability, and scalability. Motus-E accompanied this shift last year with more than twenty working groups and extensive participation in institutional hearings – an indicator of the association's growing political relevance and of the broader acceleration of electric mobility in Italy.
Bringing the software perspective into industry development
"The Italian e-mobility market is moving from an initial build-out phase into a stage of maturity, where reliability and rapid scaling are taking centre stage," says Alessandro Cicerchia, Country Manager Italy, chargecloud Italia S.r.l. "Motus-E is the central forum where this development is actively shaped – through dialogue between companies, technology providers and institutions. As a software provider, it is important for us to be present where the standards are being set that will define how charging infrastructure operates in the long term. We bring our experience in interoperability and operational excellence to help shape a reliable charging ecosystem in Italy together with the other members."
“We are very pleased to welcome chargecloud to our association. This new member further enriches our ecosystem, bringing valuable perspective and expertise that will fuel an increasingly innovation-driven dialogue. Charging is a key factor for the development of electric mobility in Italy, and having dynamic, specialized companies like chargecloud at the table represents real added value for the entire industry,” says Francesco Naso, Secretary General, Motus-E.
